Our History
Founded in 2014
Nathan Contractors was founded in 2014 by a small group of construction professionals. It began with a strong focus on formwork and structural concrete services and has since expanded its capabilities to include site civil works, in-ground services, piling, concrete batching and placement, reo supply and fixing, grouting and mechanical works.

Russell Boyd worked in the civil construction industry for many years in Australia and overseas as a project engineer, project manager, and corporate manager. He founded Nathan Contractors in April 2014 and applied the same systems and rigour he learned at the top end of the industry to building the business.
Together, he and the Nathan team have achieved a level of professionalism that is rare for a structural concrete subcontractor. His leadership approach is simple: trust people, give them room to grow, and promote from within. Nathan’s success comes from the passion and hard work of a dedicated team committed to outstanding performance and quality — and Russell is proud to have led the charge.
David is an accomplished General Manager with a Civil Engineering background and extensive experience leading the delivery of complex, large-scale infrastructure projects across Australia. With a proven track record in managing end-to-end project lifecycles from design and planning through to construction and operational handover, he is known for combining technical excellence with strong commercial acumen and a collaborative leadership style.
Drawing on deep expertise in Transport, Water, Utilities, Renewables, Gas , Mining and Defence; David has successfully guided multidisciplinary teams to deliver major projects safely, efficiently, and to the highest quality standards. Passionate about innovation and sustainable outcomes, he fosters strong partnerships with clients, contractors, and communities to create infrastructure that delivers long-term value and positive impact.
Ryan Taylor, as the Commercial Manager, is a cornerstone in the strategic planning and commercial management of projects at Nathan Contractors. His role in managing the firm’s sales, marketing and tenders division is crucial in ensuring Nathan’s success.
With a robust background in the design and delivery of concrete and steel structures, quality control, and technical planning, Ryan’s unwavering attention to detail ensures every project adheres to the highest standards of integrity and quality.
Joseph brings over 15 years of industry experience to Nathan, leveraging a wealth of experience gained from his roots in Ireland. With a profound understanding of operational intricacies, Joseph has been a cornerstone in overseeing and optimizing project workflows. His expertise lies in implementing efficient strategies that enhance productivity and streamline construction processes.
Joseph is known for his adept management of diverse teams, developing people, fostering collaboration, and ensuring adherence to the highest industry standards. His commitment to operational excellence continues to drive our company towards greater achievements in the field of civil construction.
Marc Valerio is a seasoned Project Manager with a strong track record in delivering large-scale bridge and renewable projects. With over eight years of experience in the construction industry, Marc has consistently demonstrated his competence in project management and delivery.
Marc’s career highlights include his pivotal role in managing complex bridge construction projects, such as the Ashley Drive bridge upgrade and Bruce Highway Upgrade (CR2SM). These projects showcased his meticulous attention to detail and innovative approach to temporary works to ensure the seamless execution of critical project phases. Marc’s proficiency in formwork design is often instrumental in optimising construction processes, enhancing efficiency, and mitigating risks.
At Nathan Contractors, Marc applies his expertise to engineering support, cost estimation, and project management to ensure the successful delivery of bridge and renewable sector infrastructure projects.
Kelly is a senior HR professional with 15+ years’ experience in blue-collar industries. At Nathan Contractors, she leads our people function — overseeing workforce planning, recruitment, industrial relations, EBA negotiation, talent management, and organisational change.
Kelly brings a hands-on, strategic approach and a proven ability to build strong relationships and deliver results in high-performance environments.
