Key Successes and Achievements
Nathan Contractors was engaged by Secure Energy Joint Venture (SEJV) to complete the majority of large concrete structures for the Buronga Substation, the largest substation built in the southern hemisphere at 800MW. The project involved comprehensive civil and structural works, including the construction of footings for synchronous condensers, building slabs, transformer foundations, and other critical infrastructure. Despite facing challenges such as extreme weather conditions and complex logistical requirements, Nathan Contractors delivered the project on schedule, adhering to the highest standards of quality and safety, and significantly contributing to the successful completion of this landmark project.
☛ Efficiency: Innovations in construction joints for the Syncon Building Slab allowed continuous pouring, significantly advancing the construction schedule.
☛ Adaptability: Successfully adapted to changing scope and contract model, maintaining project momentum and client satisfaction.
☛ Resource Management: Efficiently managed resources across multiple structures simultaneously, ensuring smooth project progression.
☛ Safety Compliance: Maintained strict health and safety standards, achieving zero lost time injuries (LTIs), even during night works.
☛ Quality and Precision: All works were completed to the client’s specifications and tolerances, ensuring high-quality outcomes and no recalls for defects.
☛ Client Relationship: Strengthened partnership with SEJV through effective collaboration and communication, leading to successful project completion.
☛ 7,600m³ of concrete poured
☛ 1,800 tonnes of steel installed
